What is next for The Elder Scrolls Online?
Bethesda has done a great job of introducing large story updates to further the lore aspect of The Elder Scrolls Online. The game looks and plays drastically different now than when it did many years ago when it was first launched. This helps keep everything fresh and gets players invested in the game for the long term. Having said that, 2021 is already over and last year’s big expansion has met its end. It’s high time for Bethesda to reveal what it has planned for ESO this year.
— Bethesda UK (@Bethesda_UK) January 4, 2022 ESO players have already met Sea Elves in the game. However, ESO doesn’t feature them as prominently when compared to other Elves. This might change soon based on the teaser that Bethesda released on the game’s official Twitter account. The Sea Elves hail from Pyandonea, a continent located south of the Summerset Isles, which is the home of the Altmer, otherwise known as the High Elves. It’s easy to distinguish the Sea Elves from the other types of elves because of their milky eyes and pale complexion. It’s also easy to stand out when you can take control of sea serpents and use them as mounts. According to the game’s lore, the Sea Elves are all ruled by Orgnum, an immortal king who many believe is also the Serpent God Satakal. Because of the long-standing rivalry between the Sea Elves and the High Elves, it makes sense to put them in an antagonistic light as would-be usurpers after spending centuries trying to take over the Summerset Isles. Of course, this is all speculation for now. Until Bethesda confirms anything, all ESO players can do is wait. Thankfully, Bethesda did confirm that the news will come “tomorrow”, so be sure to keep an eye on the game’s official Twitter account sometime on January 6 or the late evening of January 5, depending on where you live.
