Highrise first appeared in 2009 and has since popped up in Call of Duty Online and Call of Duty: Mobile. The medium size multiplayer map is set atop an almost completed skyscraper and has been a fan-favorite 6v6 map since its inception. Likewise, the Terminal map also hails from the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2. It appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Mobile, as well as Call of Duty Online and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Terminal is, unsurprisingly, an Airport and features many iconic places for players to set up ambushes and the series’ famous “quiet kills.” Having both Highrise and Terminal back in Modern Warfare 2 would be cause to celebrate for any hardcore CODhead out there. However, as the late Billy Mays famously said: “But wait, there’s more!” As previously mentioned, Shoothouse and Shipment are also coming to Modern Warfare 2. According to CharlieIntel on Twitter:
The Call of Duty Blog says Season 01 info coming tomorrow. Stay tuned. pic.twitter.com/A1szEsjFAZ — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) November 8, 2022 Shoothouse is probably the newest of the returning maps, its origin being 2019’s first Modern Warfare reboot. Located in Urzikstan, Shoothouse is classified as a live fire kill house, and the map features all of the bloody brutality such a description entails. On the other hand, the classic multiplayer map Shipment has been around since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and is easily the oldest map on this list. The smallest map in Call of Duty, Shipment is perfect for small, quick games like free-for-all. Rust, another small map originally from 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, rounds out the list of leaked maps set to return for Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2 is currently one of the most popular games for consoles and PC. These new/old maps should send its already sky-high popularity into the stratosphere. With these recently leaked maps, veteran CODheads will be able to relive the nostalgic good ol’ days, and noobs will be able to experience some of the maps that made Call of Duty the mega-successful franchise it is today.
