Say Hello to the Loki Skin for Fortnite
Epic teased the Fortnite Loki skin earlier this week. Although it wasn’t “confirmed”, fans believed that Loki was coming to Fortnite, and indeed he is. Loki’s design for Fortnite should feel familiar to most audiences as it’s basically his look from 2012’s The Avengers film. After the initial teaser image for the Loki skin, Epic Games has released a reveal trailer. In it, Epic shows off the God of Mischief inside the battle bus and waiting to be dropped, just like the rest of the players. The short film also puts Bendie as the butt of the joke as Loki “accidentally” deflates the inflatable character after he tries so hard to avoid all sharp objects. By the end of the trailer, Epic gives audiences a much closer look at the Loki skin. It’s exactly what players had expected, right down to his horned helmet and ornate mix of green and gold. He also seems to be sporting his black hair in a way that’s similar to Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal. Given how great Loki looks in Fortnite, we wouldn’t be surprised if the skin ends up becoming the most popular skin in Fortnite for a while. Unfortunately, Epic seems intent on capitalizing on the popularity of Loki by locking him behind the Fortnite Crew subscription service. A player must have have an active Fortnite Crew subscription first, which costs $11.99 a month, to gain access to the Loki skin. If it’s any consolation, the Fortnite Loki skin comes “free” so long as your subscription to Fortnite Crew is active. Along with the Fortnite skin, subscribers will also be getting access to the latest Battle Pass, as well as 1,000 V-Bucks. According to leakers, the Fortnite Loki skin will also come with a special glider and loading screen, with his staff his special harvesting tool as confirmed by the teaser trailer.
When Is the Loki Skin for Fortnite Release Date?
Loki’s skin will be available in Fortnite starting July 1. As previously mentioned, it’ll be exclusive to Fortnite Crew subscribers. Having said that, Epic could not have timed Loki’s arrival in Fortnite any better. The occasional Marvel anti-hero is currently starring in his own highly successful show on Disney Plus. We’d have to admit, we love that Epic went with his more regal look instead of putting him in a suit or jacket, as he is now depicted on his own show. Speaking of, it’ll be interesting to see if Epic finds a way to tie his appearance in Fortnite to the show. Even if that doesn’t happen, it’ll be fun seeing Loki interact with the other supervillains and superheroes already available in Fortnite
