You see, for as long as Fortnite’s been around publicly, Epic’s popular battle royale title has always prided itself on its collaborations. Epic has partnered with several other companies to bring all sorts of guest skins to Fortnite, even going as far as to bring artists like Travis Scott and Ariana Grande into the game to hold a virtual concert. However, for the most part, Fortnite’s crossover with either comic books, western animation, and real people. But, now, it appears that Epic is headed to the land of the rising sun for its first-ever anime crossover.
Naruto is headed to Fortnite
After several weeks of leaks, rumors, speculations, and memes, Epic finally confirmed a Naruto crossover. Epic posted a teaser image for the Fortnite x Naruto collaboration on the game’s official Twitter account. The image includes a cloud that many fans of the anime series are familiar with that’s overlayed over the logos of Fortnite and Naruto: Shippuden. Further confirming that it is indeed Naruto (as if the name wasn’t enough proof already), Epic wrote the favorite phrase of the series’ protagonist, Believe It. According to the teaser image, the Fortnite x Naruto crossover is going to launch on November 16.
— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) November 10, 2021 Naruto: Shippuden alone has a wide and expansive cast of characters. It will be interesting to see who Epic will bring into Fortnite and when. If the collaboration proves to be popular enough, Epic will have a treasure trove of potential skins to choose from using the anime’s cast alone. In addition to Naruto Uzumaki and most probably Sasuka Uchicha, other fan-favorite characters that would make sense to bring over to Fortnite include Hatake Kakashi, Might Guy, Shikamaru Nara, and Gaara of the Desert, among others. Furthermore, fans can expect more Shonen Jump characters to join Fortnite after Naruto. This partnership leaves the window open for crossovers with other popular anime franchises. It’s probably only a matter of time before we see Dragonball’s Goku and One Piece’s Luffy appear in Fortnite. Interestingly enough, Naruto was part of a list of upcoming Fortnite collaborations that was leaked earlier this year.
