One dataminer, in particular, appears to have found information confirming the number of maps that Halo Infinite will have at launch and when the next test flight will take place.
When is the next Halo Infinite technical preview?
According to a Twitter user going by the handle @Surasia4, Halo Infinite will have 23 maps available when it releases, including arena and BTB. The info comes as a reply to the official Call of Duty Twitter account where it confirmed that Call of Duty: Vanguard will have “20 maps at launch”. The same user then later confirmed this by saying that Halo Infinite will have 23 maps that “are actually in the game and have assets, etc.” Naturally, other Halo fans couldn’t help themselves from reaching out to the dataminer to try and find out more about the upcoming game. In particular, one person had an interesting question about the map size. The dataminer then replied by saying that fans will “see two BTB maps in the next flight” but to “expect much more in the final game.” The same dataminer also revealed that 343 will hold the next test flight for Halo Infinite in October. 343 held the first Halo Infinite technical preview in late July that lasted through early August. Although it was initially filled with issues, most participants found themselves satisfied with what they got. Interestingly enough, 343 has already confirmed that a multiplayer preview is coming in late September. Does this mean that Halo Infinite is going to get more than one technical preview ahead of its launch this December? If this is the case, then Halo fans will definitely have a reason to celebrate this holiday season. With that said, Halo Infinite is set to release on December 8. So, don’t expect 343 to hold more technical previews in November. The studio will likely take this time to polish Halo Infinite, fix bugs, and prepare it for its highly anticipated launch.
