Less than 24 hours after the premiere date of the highly anticipated live-action was leaked online, HBO has confirmed that it is indeed headed into small screens on January 15 and 16 next year. The former is going to be release date in the United States, specifically, at 9:00 PM Eastern, on HBO and HBO Max. Meanwhile, the latter will serve as the launch date in the United Kingdom on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV. The first season of HBO’s The Last of Us will have ten episodes that will be released every week, which, unless we’re wrong, will run until the middle of March.

With Chernobyl creator, Craig Mazin, in tow, HBO’s The Last of Us is in excellent hands. From what we know so far, the upcoming video game adaptation will expand on the source material. Speaking of The Last of Us, fans are waiting for the PC release date of The Last of Us Part 1. The PS5 remake of the original award-winning title had already launched in September to mixed reception. Also, it’s believed that Naughty Dog’s multiplayer spin-off that’s set in the same universe as The Last of Us games will be a free-to-play title.
