According to the fan account, House of the Dragon Source, Episode 8 will feature one last time jump for House of the Dragon before settling with its “final” cast members. Unlike the initial flash-forward, Episode 8 will mostly only affect House Velaryon. The account claims that Tom Glynn-Carney and Phia Saban will join the cast as Alicent’s children in Episode 8, as Harry Collet and Elliot Grihault join as older versions of Rhaenyra’s bastard children with the fiery Harwin Strong. In addition to this, the tweet alludes to the inevitable - HBO is planning House of the Dragon as a multiseason affair. House of the Dragon has already beaten Game of Thrones in terms of viewership numbers and it continues to grow. However, this doesn’t mean that the show isn’t without fault. Fans often point to the constant time jumps as an issue for House of the Dragon. Considering how fans are still somewhat attached to Emily Carey and Milly Alcock as Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen, respectively, this is a valid criticism. Hopefully, House of the Dragon is thinking about bringing them back for a flashback or two in the future to help elaborate certain plot points. Having said that, House of the Dragon’s showrunners, Ryan Condal and George R.R. Martin, have proven that they more than deserve the benefit of the doubt. The former, especially, has done a fine job reversing the public perspective of the series following what D&D did to the final two seasons of Game of Thrones despite requests from the latter to make the show longer. Now that the spin-off is generating as much buzz as the original, we’re hoping that Condal and Martin can slow things down a bit before the eventual internal conflict between the warring Targaryen factions. In the meantime, fans can keep themselves busy by watching House of the Dragon Episode 7 on Sunday, October 2.
