PewDiePie is one of the most influential content creators on any platform. The Swedish YouTuber made a name for himself with his Let’s Play videos and other comedy shows. In 2016, Time magazine named Kjellberg one of the most influential people in the world. But, while PewDiePie has left an indelible mark as a content creator, it appears that someone else is gunning for his record as the single most-subscribed content creator on YouTube. MrBeast is a philanthropist, restauranteur, and chocolatier with a penchant for big-budget videos with roughly around 90 million subscribers on YouTube. At his current estimated growth rate of 2.3 million subscribers a month - MrBeast earned a total of 37 million new followers in 2021 - MrBeast could realistically surpass PewDiePie’s number in two years. Of course, this is assuming that PewDiePie doesn’t engage in a “subscriber war” with MrBeast. For what it’s worth, PewDiePie doesn’t seem to mind the competition. After joking that MrBeast is his next opponent, PewDiePie assured fans that there’s no beef between them. Not to mention, PewDiePie doesn’t seem bothered too much about working hard on his YouTube channel these days. The last time we heard of him, he was revisiting Minecraft after taking a long hiatus in December only to go on a month-long break last month. In other streaming news, Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, better known as DrDisrespect, has threatened to quit Warzone for the nth time. Meanwhile, RSN_Radishboy recently lost his home to a fire mid-broadcast.
