At least, that’s what the studio is teasing with the latest The Suicide Squad poster.
Who’s going to die and live in The Suicide Squad?
DC and Warner Bros. gave Gunn free reigns with his own version of the movie that revolved around Task Force X and it’s safe to say that he hasn’t disappointed. So far, most if not all critics are saying good things about The Suicide Squad. At one point, the movie held a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is no easy feat. Although the figure has since gone down to 96%, it’s still enough to put The Suicide Squad among the most highly rated comic book and superhero movies of all time. With that said, Gunn might have gotten a bit too trigger-happy with who he’s going to take down in The Suicide Squad. Just like the name suggests, the team of super villainous mercenaries, rogues, and anti-heroes, tend to go on missions where they must risk their life and limb much more than usual. Because of this, death is pretty much expected. As we already mentioned earlier, the first Suicide Squad film killed off a handful of its characters. Now, Gunn has gone so far as to tease that even Harley Quinn might die in his movie.

Of course, this could all just be a marketing ploy. It’s not unusual for studios to overhype certain aspects of their films and this could be one of those instances. Sure, some members of the expansive cast of characters of The Suicide Squad might die, but the body count probably won’t be as high as what the poster seems to tease. Then again, we could be wrong and only a handful could be left standing at the end of the movie. Either way, we can only know for sure once The Suicide Squad premieres in the United States on August 5, 2021.
