Mind you, this isn’t usually the result of an attempt to mislead fans. Video game developers strive to craft the perfect trailer for their game, wanting it to showcase the game in the best way possible. Forza Horizon 5 is no exception. As awesome as it looked at E3 2021, the trailer is different from actual gameplay footage. After all, Forza Horizon 5 isn’t a next-gen exclusive. It’s releasing on both the Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X consoles. This suggests that Playground Games will need to make compromises, so that the game can run well on the older generation consoles too. With that said, whatever concessions Playground Games had to make, they’re not visible to the naked eye.
14 Minutes of Forza Horizon 5 Gameplay
For a full 14 minutes, Playground has shared a gameplay demo of Forza Horizon 5 on the Xbox Series X. As you might expect, the game looks absolutely gorgeous running on Microsoft’s current-gen console. If you thought Forza Horizon 4, which we ranked as one of the best racing games of all time, looked good, then we recommend taking a gander at Forza Horizon 5. The demo showcases everything that players can expect from Forza Horizon 5, including but not limited to, the in-game track environments and vehicle customization features. With support for 4K/30FPS and 60FPS game modes on the Xbox Series X, it’s safe to say that Playground did not resort to any trickery in its latest Forza Horizon 5 showcase.
What’s next for Forza Horizon 5?
We can expect Playground Games to spend the next couple of months releasing Forza Horizon 5 videos. Not that we’re complaining. We’re just as happy as the next guy that Playground is giving us a proper look at Forza Horizon 5 before it releases later this year. Playground has done an excellent job at getting audiences hyped for the game. Because this is a racing game, there’s not much story to spoil here. So, you can’t exactly blame Playground for releasing demos and trailers for Forza Horizon 5 so often. In addition to the 14-minute demo, Playground has released screenshots of the different biomes in the game and a photo of the in-game map. For their next video, Playground might highlight how the map looks depending on the season.
