Today, we’re here to discuss all the aspects of Wurmple’s evolution. But before we dive into the nitty details of the forked evolution, you need to catch a Wurmple in the wild first.
How to Get Wurmple?
Wurmple is a bug type Pokemon that spawns in the wild with a respectable drop rate. So it’s not as easy to come across as a Zoobat, but not as tough to come across as Gible. However, the ongoing “Season of Legends” event has increased the drop rate of Wurmple. The “Season of Legends” lasts till June 1, 2021. During this time, players will experience increased spawn rates of all Pokemon. You can further increase your chances of catching a Wurmple with lure modules and incense. The Mossy Lure is particularly helpful in this case since is only attracts Bug, Grass, and Poison-type Pokemon instead of all nearby Pokemon. Once you’ve got a Wurmple in the bag, it’s time to catch more Wurmples to farm candies. You will need 12 candies for the first evolution and another 50 for the second evolution.
Pokemon GO: Wurmple Evolution
Wurmple can evolve into a Cascoon or a Silkoon. Unlike other Pokemon with forked evolutions, such as Evee where you needed to change the name to get your desired evolution, there’s no such funny business when it comes to Wurmple’s evolution. It’s completely random! There have been a few speculations on the facts that affect the evolution of Wurmple, most of which boil down to the time of the day. It was believed that if you evolve Wrumple during the day, it will evolve into a Cascoon, but if you evolve it during the night, it will evolve into a Silkoon. While this theory worked for a few, it was a bust for the others. Statistics have since proven that Wurmple’s evolution is completely random. In the main series of Pokemon games, Wurmple’s evolution was affected by hidden personality stats. But since that feature is not yet implemented in Pokemon Go, Wurmple’s evolution is completely random. If a future update adds the hidden personality stats, then we may be able to alter Wurmple’s evolution. If your luck hands you a Silicoon, a dual Bug and Flying-type Pokemon, then you can evolve it into a Beautifly with 50 more Wurmple candies. On the flip side, if you find yourself in the custody of a Cascoon, a dual Bug and Poison-type, then you can get a Dustox with 50 extra candies.
