The latest trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 confirms the return of the iconic trio of Sora, Donald, and Goofy as they return for another adventure in what Square Enix is referring to as the Lost Master Arc. From what we’ve seen in the trailer, Kingdom Heart 4 will take place in a Tokyo-like city, Quadratum, which the publisher describes as a “gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series.” In addition to a unique setting, Kingdom Hearts 4 will also introduce a new character in Strelitzia. Unfortunately, Square Enix did not confirm when Kingdom Hearts 4 is going to come out. However, the earlier Nvidia GeForce leak “revealed” that Kingdom Hearts 4 will be here by September 2023. In the meantime, Square Enix will tide fans over with the less-hyped Kingdom Hearts mobile game, Kingdom Hearts Missing Link. The spin-off will feature battles against the Heartless in Scala ad Caelum, a new world introduced in Kingdom Hearts 3. Kingdom Hearts Missing Link will feature a new and original story that will also tie into Kingdom Hearts 4. The confirmation of Kingdom Hearts 4 comes as a surprise to many of the series’ long-time fans. The third game in the series successfully tied decades worth of stories and adventures spanning several spinoffs and side stories. As a result, many believed that Kingdom Hearts 3 was the “final” game after it came out in 2019 with a PC and Nintendo Switch port arriving in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Now that Kingdom Hearts 4 is official, fans are excited to know where Square Enix wants to take Sora and the gang next. Kingdom Hearts III took advantage of Disney’s treasure trove of IPs and Kingdom Hearts IV should do the same. The trailer even hinted at a potential Star Wars world with what looks like the foot of an All Terrain Scout Transport, the big bipedal machinery featured in 1983’s Return of the Jedi. With Disney owning Marvel and Fox, among others, the sky is the limit for all the crossovers in Kingdom Hearts IV. Speaking of, the aforementioned GeForce Now database leak is looking very real. The list of big AAA titles that have since come out or are coming out after the list came to light has grown with the likes of PC versions of Final Fantasy VII Remake, God of War, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, and Chrono Cross Remastered. At the time, Nvidia confirmed that the database had real information albeit was “speculative.” However, the intel we’ve come across these past few months suggests that the info is legit. Case in point, there are rumors that Square Enix is working on a remaster of Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics. We wouldn’t be surprised if Square Enix is remaking Final Fantasy IX as well. Square Enix is confirmed to be working on Final Fantasy 16, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, Forspoken, and Kingdom Hearts 4.
