This time around, Techland is making a very bold but also very believable promise about Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
Dying Light is one of the most underrated games of all time. The game didn’t get the mainstream recognition it deserved, but Techland still did the game’s die-hard player base right. The studio supported Dying Light for years after it was released. It wasn’t enough for Techland to release a massive expansion for Dying Light in 2016. Instead, the studio gave players plenty of reasons to keep on coming back. Techland would continue releasing content packs and holding events for Dying Light even after Dying Light 2 was first announced at E3 2019. After setting a precedent with Dying Light, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to believe that Techland will do the same for the sequel, which is exactly what it has just promised.

Of course, to see is to believe. But, as we’ve already mentioned, Techland has done this before. Having said that, it appears that Techland is playing the long game here. Dying Light 2 has already gone gold and is set to launch on February 4. Unfortunately, it’s up against a handful of heavy hitters, chief among them being Guerilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West and FromSoftware’s Elden Ring. Perhaps Techland knows that it can’t compete with the said AAA titles at launch, so it’s probably betting on keeping gamers for the long haul. In other Dying Light news, Techland just made headlines for claiming that the game will take 500+ hours to complete. The studio later clarified that this was only for those who wanted to see everything that Dying Light 2: Stay Human has to offer. In truth, the main story of the oft-delayed Dying Light sequel will only be 20 hours long.
