Back then, you only needed 384MB worth of RAM and a GeForce 6 graphics card, at most, to enjoy San Andreas at its fullest. These days, you’re going to need far more if you want to relive all those memories with CJ and the Grove Street Families.
What kind of PC do you need to return the remastered GTA trilogy?
If you were expecting to run the remastered classic GTA games on a $500 gaming PC, we have bad news for you. In 2021, you’re going to need a much more expensive and powerful PC if you’d like to run the remastered titles. The good news is that the requirements aren’t exactly unreasonable, all things considered. For example, for the graphics card, you’ll need either a GeForce GTX 760 or a Radeon R9 280, both of which can be had for fairly cheap these days. However, for optimal performance, Rockstar recommends having a GTX 970 or an RX 570, which aren’t easy to come by at retail prices. Still, these aren’t half-bad, especially since the games will only require 45GB of free space. Unfortunately, Rockstar still hasn’t clarified if PC gamers can install the three remastered games separately or if they’ll have to install all three together. Here’s a complete list of the GTA: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition system requirements:
Minimum
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K / AMD FX-6300 Memory: 8GB Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB Disk: 45GB
Recommended
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit Processor: Intel Core i7-2700K / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Memory: 16GB Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB / AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB Disk: 45GB
In other GTA-related news, Rockstar still hasn’t announced if Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition is coming to Steam. However, a recent rumor suggests that this is indeed the case. Meanwhile, Rockstar has confirmed that San Andreas is headed to the Xbox Game Pass at launch with GTA III coming to PS Now in December.
