Kim’s casting as Ozai draws praise from audiences
Ozai served as the overarching villain of the entire The Last Airbender series. The older brother of the fan-favorite General Iroh and the father of Prince Zuko, Ozai ruled the Fire Nation with an iron fist and was responsible for ushering in an age of prosperity for his nation at the expense of putting the rest of the world under his tyrannical rule. Several fans of the franchise couldn’t help but praise the casting directors for bringing Kim on board as Ozai. As the series’ main antagonist, Ozai needed an experienced actor who could effectively portray someone who brought the entire world down to its knees. Many audiences believe that Kim is perfect for the role and are thus excited to see him portray Ozai in the live-action film. Speaking of, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the popular Nickelodeon series is starting to round into form. The show will be spearheaded by Albert Kim, who is also the series’ head writer. Meanwhile, Dan Line has signed on as the executive producer, alongside Lindsey Liberatore, and Michael Goi, who will also direct certain episodes. In addition to Kim, Gordon Cormier has been cast as Aang alongside Kiawentiio as Katara, Ion Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Earlier this year, we reported that the live-action adaptation of Avatar will start filming in November. So far, there’s no indication that this has happened yet. However, with Kim now onboard as Ozai, it might be only a matter of time before we get leaked images of the upcoming live-action adaptation series once production kicks off. Unfortunately, Netflix has not confirmed when the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender will arrive. However, many expect the series to launch on the streaming platform sometime in 2022.
