Previously, we reported that The Mandalorian’s third season might come out in December, but this is wrong. According to the official Star Wars Twitter account, The Mandalorian’s next season will start airing on Disney Plus in February 2023. But, it appears that fans aren’t worried about the delay at all - some are more than happy just knowing that Mando, as he’s been affectionately called by fans, is coming back.
— Star Wars (@starwars) May 26, 2022 The closing moments of the last season of The Mandalorian saw Disney one-up itself as the showrunners digitally de-aged Mark Hamill for Luke Skywalker’s appearance in The Mandalorian. The Jedi Master would come back in The Book of Boba Fett, which saw Grogu reunite with Din Djardin. More importantly, we also saw how powerful Grogu had become after spending some time training with Luke. With Mando and Grogu back together, the next season of The Mandalorian will be quite interesting. While the “delay” is unfortunate, it wasn’t totally out of left field. Disney usually releases each season of The Mandalorian around 9 months after it finishes filming. Although this meant that the House of Mouse still had time to drop the third season in December, the studio elected to delay it by a couple of months. Then again, it’s not like Disney is leaving fans to dry as they wait for Mando to return. Obi-Wan Kenobi’s standalone series, which might tie into the fan-favorite Star Wars video game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will run from May 27 until June 24 followed by Andor on August 31. There’s also The Bad Batch Season 2 that could come out anytime between now and then. Also, while we’re at it, Disney Plus is welcoming Ms. Marvel from June 8 to July 13 with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premiering on August 17. TLDR; there’s still plenty to watch on Disney+ if you’re a fan of Star Wars (and also Marvel).
