The first one, The Wrath of the Druids, will take players to Ireland as they face off against the deadly cult that’s terrorizing the land. Afterward, players will get a chance to travel to Francia in The Siege of Paris and participate in the “Vikings’ most daring conquest yet”. But, while both look like huge expansions, they seem smaller in scale compared to previous outings. This is especially when you compare it to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which saw players travel to places like Atlantis and even go toe-to-toe with the Greek gods themselves. However, we probably don’t need to worry too much. A recent leak is currently suggesting that both relatively minor expansions will all build up to a third and much larger DLC.
What Is The Third Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC?
https://twitter.com/xj0nathan/status/1378333454576799744 After doing some digging, french YouTuber, j0nathan, seems to have found evidence pointing to the third Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC. Now, before we proceed, we’d like to let you know that j0nathan’s reputation as a leaker is quite credible. Previously, j0nathan had leaked the release date of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (prior to its delay) and a number of updates that eventually were added to Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. What gives his most recent leak even further credence is that it comes from the game’s code, so it’s not just pure speculation. With that said, the evidence for the third Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC lies in something listed as DLC_EXP3_Meteor, which apparently follows the same patterns as that of the first two major expansions that’s part of the Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, this itself isn’t a confirmation that it is the third big DLC for the latest title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Rather, it leads to further speculation. Like, for example, is it going to be a part of the season pass or an additional DLC that’s not part of it? Is it cut content? Is it a free expansion? Remember, not all that data miners find inside a game’s code is meant to be found. Other times, they’re simply content that was removed from the game at some point during development and will never be added back again. But, at the same time, it is solid proof that something like a third Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC does exist. Although we probably won’t see it at least until late 2021 or early 2022.
What’s Next for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
In addition to the free seasonal content for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, players are now looking forward to the two full expansions as detailed in the game’s roadmap. As mentioned earlier, both expansions are part of the game’s Season Pass and the first one, Wrath of the Druids, is slated to release some time in Spring 2021. Outside a new setting and details of players fighting against a new cult, the said DLC will add new features into the game such as a new smuggling mechanic and the ability to capture forts. After the first expansion drops, players can look forward to Summer 2021, which is when The Siege of Paris is set to arrive if things go according to plan. Unfortunately, Ubisoft has yet to clarify what’s next for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla beyond this. It is possible that the Meteor DLC will indeed arrive by then. However, it could very well just be cut content, as rumor has it that Ubisoft is already preparing to launch a new Assassin’s Creed game in early 2022.
