The actor revealed the news on Tuesday after posting a photo inside a voice acting booth with the caption, “Oooooooooo! Cannot wait to share what this one is. #backinthelab #voiceacting #games #vo #deathloop #coltjustcolt #baftagames.” Vahn later revealed that he was recording dialogue for a “new title” but that he can’t say more because of an NDA. So, while Deathloop probably isn’t getting a sequel, Arkane Studios is working on more content for the game.
— jasonkelley.jk (@Jasonkelley_JK) May 17, 2022 Deathloop is easily one of 2021’s more underrated titles. However, Arkane’s latest title was a critical darling. The game was one of the handful of games nominated for GOTY at The Game Awards 2021. The FPS title is now set to come to the Xbox Series S/X later this year after a year of exclusivity on the PS5. Having said that, the upcoming Deathloop-related project is on-brand with Arkane Studios. The Texas-based game developers tend to release huge chunks of post-launch expansions for their games. Most notably, 2016’s Dishonored 2 got a standalone expansion, Death of the Outsider, in 2017. We wouldn’t be surprised if Arkane is giving Deathloop a similar treatment, which could come out alongside its Xbox Series S/X launch. Hopefully, we’ll find out more about Kelley’s in-development Deathloop project at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase on June 12. Speaking of Arkane Studios, Bethesda recently confirmed that Redfall and Starfield are not coming out later this year. This delay was a gut punch to fans expecting to see Arkane and Bethesda’s next AAA titles.
