So far, Marvel’s Avengers has seen the arrival of Kate Bishop and Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye. As promised, King T’Challa, better known as the Black Panther, will be joining Marvel’s Avengers hero roster as part of the War for Wakanda expansion.
When Is the War for Wakanda Release Date?
We’ve known for a while that Black Panther coming to the game after the announcement of the War for Wakanda expansion. Unfortunately, the roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers failed to provide more information as to when audiences can expect the new hero to come swing by as a playable character. Fast forward to E3 2021 and Crystal Dynamics has confirmed the War for Wakanda release date. According to Crystal Dynamics, the free update is scheduled to arrive in August. In addition to letting players take control of the Black Panther, the expansion will also offer gamers the opportunity to explore Wakanda and meet all of its most prominent citizens. This includes the Dora Milaje, as well as King T’Challa’s younger sister, Shuri, and Klaue, who will serve as the main antagonist of the War for Wakanda expansion. In War for Wakanda, players will take part in a story that follows Klaue. Black Panther’s longtime nemesis is working together with AIM to steal Wakanda’s most treasured asset, the vibranium. Judging from the trailer above, it looks like Klaue is bringing a lot of firepower with him. He’s not just content with setting off a series of explosions through the hidden city this time around. Klaue has unleashed a giant sentry to wreak havoc for him. However, the War for Wakanda expansion isn’t the only new content that’s coming to Marvel’s Avengers. Before August, players can look forward to a new Cosmic Cube mission. This is a challenging sequence that will see the superhero team travel to the Frozen Tundra to confront the Scientist Supreme as she attempts to use her new weapon to bend reality according to her own wishes. The new story-based mission will include a new Villain Sector for Scientist Supreme, which will also add a new story with Hank Pym, and is expected to be available on June 22. Another thing of note that’s coming to Marvel’s Avengers is the Wasteland Patrols update. It will let you search the Wasteland for clues about the impending doom. An all-new Patrol mode will add randomized and replayable boss fights, as well as reward you with gear and loot based on where you’ve explored. The massive open-world map will reportedly have no set objective and will let you visit a variety of locales like a graveyard full of Kree sentry and a SHIELD stronghold, among others. Unlike the aforementioned updates, Wasteland Patrol doesn’t have a release window. It may or may not release sometime this Summer 2021. Unfortunately, Crystal Dynamics did not talk about adding Spider-Man to Marvel’s Avengers. Previously, the studio had announced that the bughead will be coming to PlayStation consoles in Early 2021. At this point, we’re more than halfway through 2021. We’ve long passed the initial project release window. With that said, we do know that Crystal Dynamics is working on adding Spider-Man to Marvel’s Avengers. Until then, players will have to settle with the upcoming updates for Marvel’s Avengers that we have just outlined.
