Microsoft has announced two big upgrades for Xbox Cloud Gaming: the servers are now powered by Xbox Series X, and it is now available on iOS, as well as PC.
Xbox Cloud Gaming Becomes More Widely Available
We recently reported that users were seeing Xbox Series X upgrades for some games on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft didn’t confirm it then, but it was apparently a tease for what’s to come. Now, Microsoft has finally completed the transition and gamers can start taking advantage of the power of the Xbox Series X. Here are some of the Xbox Cloud Gaming benefits gamers can expect going forward:
Faster loading speeds Better performance Lower latency Higher quality graphics 1080p gameplay up to 60 frames per second Streaming of games optimized for Xbox Series S/X
Since the Xbox Series S/X was released, this change was inevitable. However, for the upgrade to happen so soon is definitely a welcome surprise. The added performance should make Xbox Cloud Gaming an even better experience on multiple platforms. This also paves the way for the likes of Microsoft Flight Simulator to make its way to Xbox Cloud Gaming. In addition to upgrading to the Xbox Series X server blades, Xbox Cloud Gaming will also start being more available to other platforms. After making the streaming service exclusive to a few insiders on iOS devices and PCs, Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available to everyone who has an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription in all the supported countries. Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available on multiple platforms too. It can be played on iOS, Android, and PC, with the servers now powered by the Xbox Series X. It’s definitely right up there among the best game streaming services today, if not the best, and is well worth spending your money on, especially since you get access to these games that have touch controls. Most people have a capable phone these days. A lot more don’t have a console or a PC. This makes the prospect of playing AAA titles via Xbox Cloud Gaming so exciting. These days, the Xbox Game Pass library is filled with so many good titles, including classic games, and more titles that are expected to be available at launch. While not every Xbox Game Pass game is on Xbox Cloud Gaming, most do make their way there, so it’s only a matter of time.
