The YouTuber recently confessed on his since-deleted Twitter account that he’s behind another Twitter account, TheRealInsider. The “anonymous” leaker made headlines over the past few months for getting the jump on important info ahead of everybody else. A few weeks back, TheRealInsider was the first to reveal info about the new Assassin’s Creed games, including Mirage and Project Red, among others. Here’s what Allen had to say after people caught on and he decided to admit to the crime: It’s not unusual for journalists to uncover information by digging. Unfortunately, what Dan Allen Gaming, who had 189,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, did is a breach of contract. Dan is an influencer who had access to important info after signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement. He had an obligation to keep quiet. Unfortunately, by tweeting about unannounced games ahead of the developers, Dan Allen Gaming broke the NDA and put himself at risk as well as the companies involved. Dan Allen Gaming could be facing a lawsuit from Ubisoft and other companies as a result of his actions. Most likely, Dan Allen will be blacklisted from getting his hands on similar intel in the future. Coincidentally, Allen’s confession comes in the same week as a Diablo 4 gameplay leak and the now-infamous GTA 6 leak. After insiders corroborated the leaked information, Rockstar Games published a statement that verified its authenticity. The FBI is currently investigating the incident.
