In a response to fans worried about his role in the DC Universe going forward, Levi had this to say: Of course, we shouldn’t go around believing everything we read, even if it’s from Levi. Keep in mind that The Rock went on a press tour to tell everyone that Henry Cavill is back as Superman in the DCU, which Cavill himself confirmed, and we all know how that turned out. If only to play devil’s advocate, Levi probably isn’t allowed to let anyone know that he’ll be booted as soon as Shazam! Fury of the Gods premieres on March 17. After all, Gunn will be rebooting the DCU with the next slate of movies. The fate of several big names who were previously synonymous with the now-defunct DC Extended Universe is up in the air following James Gunn’s recent purging. For example, we aren’t sure if Gal Gadot and her Wonder Woman are still going to be a part of the DCU after Gunn axed Wonder Woman 3. Meanwhile, rumors suggest that Jason Momoa will go from playing Aquaman to playing Lobo, presumably after Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom come out next year. Finally, Gunn’s latest statement about “not recasting everyone” doesn’t really inspire any hope considering that we’ve zero clue what’s going on in his mind. With that said, it’s useless to worry about something that’s out of our control. For now, fans can sit back, relax, and enjoy Shazam! Fury of the Gods in theaters.
